When considering Themed events for our clients we try to make their event more individually tailored to their event needs. When we have a client that is adamant on a theme they tend to go for the most popular events that we have listed below. The reasoning for this is because they know what to expect of the event and most importantly they know that the event will work.
I looked back through our records and came up with our own personalised chart of popular events,
The most asked for events we have had are:
Egyptian themed
James Bond
Casino
Playboy
Turkish theme
Art Deco
1960’s
Japanese
Football, particular relating to 1966 world cup.
All events have been a great success and our clients have been very focused on what they wanted and the outcome. This helped us a great deal in making these themed events a great success.
Within the Event industry I have seen a great increase in glamorous children’s parties. It seems that some parents will go all out with no expense speared to ensure their children have a great party. The increase of major children’s events has almost tripled since last year and seems to be the next best way to socialise as an adult and child.
I particularly enjoy working on children’s events, Girls parties are fantastic due to the ability it gives me to be really creative and allows me to use masses of pink and glitter. The themes that girls generally want range depending on the age, and current trends.
Here is a list of most popular girls themes:
Fairy
Disco
High School Musical
Make over
Teddy bear
Fancy dress
Pink party
Chocolate
Karaoke
Talent contests, such as XFactor
The use of marquees are used more frequently with children’s parties, this allows the guests to be kept in one area so the event team have the guests under control. Dyed Marquees are also a great way to incorporate colour into the design without it looking too fussy.
Here are some tips that I have put together to help you, when choosing a wedding planner.
Arranging a wedding entails a lot of work and fine tuning, it is not an easy job and it can take a bit of time due to time scales and deadlines. A good idea is to ask the wedding planner to issue you with the event schedule. This way you will understand the stages of the planning and you will be able to identify key periods of planning that you may want to get involved in.
Are you considering a career in Event design?
Here are a few tips from TR Events design team to help you on your way.
Event design is a really enjoyable and creative environment to work in. I Started out as an Interior designer and then had a great opportunity to work on an event in Central London for some very glamorous celebs. The event had no limits in regards to budget so the final outcome was fantastic to see. It is such a buzz to see months of planning come together so your event works really well. I have had the pleasure of working on some great events as well as some slightly strange ones that have not been as enjoyable, but the good events seem to outweigh the bad ones.
Here are some great points to consider if you are thinking of getting in to Event design:
- A good design background will serve you well,
- A knowledge of themes that are quite popular within events,
- The ability to research themes and ideas that can be portrayed well to a client,
- Good communication and presentation skills, so you will present your ideas well to your client,
- Nerves of steel, you may often need to stand up and present your work in front of large amounts of people.
- The ability to work with a group of designers, event managers and contractors,
- You will have to be highly motivated to achieve deadlines and get to meetings,
- Be able to source props and items needed for the event,
- Sketching and CAD skills will help you sell your event to the client,
- Be on hand on the day to make sure that the design of the event is going to plan,
- Be prepared for a problem and be able to solve it in record timing.
Event design can be very rewarding and almost theatrical at times but believe me it has it stresses, the ability to pull a rabbit from a hat when the going gets tuff will serve you well within this industry.
